Philosophy of Transits

If you’re new to the Philosophy of the “Transiting” Planets or haven’t watched them that much, then, the following will help you understand the Transits and how they interact with the other aspects of your Astrology.

In general, there are 3 main aspects of everyone’s Astrology.

#1        Is our Charts.  Every day, and in every way, we’re living a unique combination of Astrological qualities, and characteristics that represents our nature and personality.

This is our Chart.  We have a Sun nature, representing our Self-Sun, identify.  We have a Moon, emotional nature and identify.

We even have a personality part that is characterized by our Rising Signs.

Ever go to a party and be immediately attracted and charmed by one person and then, immediately repelled! by another?

This experience is due to the clashings or interactions of people’s different Rising Signs!

Within our Charts, we also have each and every aspect of our individuality; which includes all our strengths and even, weaknesses!

We live our chart every moment and in every way!

However, at different times, we’ll be experiencing the different flavors or qualities or karmas of our chart coming to us.

This is the #2 aspect of our charts, which Eastern Astrology or Jyotish calls the Dasas!

The Dasas, are the flavors, quite often, experienced as our subtle ‘feelings’ coming to us, shifting from time to time, for no real good reason.

One day we get up and for some unknown reason we feel like getting out of town, or going traveling!

Or we start to ‘feel’ that we need to write that great novel we’ve always been wanting to do!

These, deep, shifts in our lives, correspond very precisely with the literal march of basically 3 levels of the Dasas.

The Dasas include a Maha or Great Dasa; lasting from 7-17 years in length.
The Middle Dasa which lasts anywhere between 1-3 years is called the Antardasa and the smallest time period, lasting anywhere between 1-4 months, is called a Bhukti, for smallest.

The #3 aspect of our Astrology which we’re ALL, living all the time is called the Transits!  The Transits are the immediate and environmental affects of the Sun, Stars and planets literally, shining down upon the Earth at every ‘present’ moment!

And though one can look into the past or future for the Transits, however, we’ll always be experiencing them in our Present!

You may have experienced something like the Transits, at work, some day, when someone remarks:  “Wow, what’s up, today, everyone seems so on-edge!”

Or hospital and police and fire personnel often have this experience:

“Oh, must be the Full, (or New) Moon again, all the crazies are coming out!”

In some ways the Transits and Dasas can be experienced in similar ways.  However, I’ve noticed one of the best ways to figure out whether you’re going through a Dasa flavor or Transit one is:

Dasas come and go, playing out on the subtle canvas of your emotions, or come to you from the inside.

Transits, on the other hand, come to one, like the weather, coming to us, directly, from the outside, as if upon the body.

Conclusion:

Knowing that there are generally, only these 3 main aspects of your Astrology that you’ll be going through at any moment; is a tremendous insight into the Nature of Human Life!

Once you know, and experience that you’re always just living these three Astrological components; then, you’ll feel quite deeply Understanding as to why you’re going through what you’re going through!

Success:  This will allow you to take maximum advantage of all the various stages and parts of life.

Knowing and then, Learning how to 1) Understand and then 2) Take advantage of these special times and flavors of life; is the #1 purpose of Astrology!

Each person, however, may experience these 3 components slightly differently.

For example I’ve found that those who are more sensitive to the Moon,  maybe they have a smallish type of Moon on the day of their  birth; they tend to be more affected by the ups and downs of the Moon!

This has certainly been true in my life.  And, may in fact be the main reason why I’ve focused on the Transits so often.

On the other hand, if your Moon is big and settled you may not be so vulnerable to the daily, weekly and monthly Transits as other people!

One time I was talking to a friend and I said:  “Hey, did you experience the transits, last week?  Wow, was it intense!”  He looked at me with a strange and unusual curiosity and said: “No, I felt fine.”

It was such an intense time of Transits, so I thought, ‘Wow, wonder what his chart is like.”  Later he told me and I discovered indeed, he was born on the Full Moon!  It was like, literally, the water just flowed off his back; nothing upset him that much.  And, now I knew the reason.

The Goal of all Astrology, as in life; whether you’re going through this Dasa period or another is to become a success in life!

We’ve taken birth, here, to live all the specifics of our Astrology, and yet, immediately being born, we forgot why we came!

Our Astrology is like a beautiful ‘blueprint’ or ‘map’ that will allow us to travail thorugh all the difficult and confusing times and places of life!

Without our map, it may be like going to a new big town, Chicago, New York, or Paris, and not have a map!

Now, some people may like trying to get around without a map.

Me, on the other hand, I love a good map!

Get me a good map, and I have much more fun finding where I’m going!

Our Astrology is the perfect ‘map’ that Nature created to help us understand why we’ve come and what we’re truly meant to accomplish in this life!

Find your Charts, Dasas and Transits in your own life!

Sincerely,
